Cataloging Committee
Purpose:
The Cataloging Operational Committee exists to support member libraries and facilitate cooperative efforts toward providing CLIC library users with access to materials by creating and maintaining bibliographic, authority, and holdings records, and monitoring the quality of those records.
CLIC Cataloging Committee Goals for 2011-2012:
1. Explore methods of tracking and recording catalog maintenance activity.
2. Continue to develop a policy for cataloging streaming media.
3. Identify and work on the consortial issues that may arise as a variety of discovery layers are used as we move forward.
4. Continue the monitoring and implementation of RDA.
5. Participate (on an as-desired basis per institution) in the reclamation process with OCLC. Share with the group information and procedures that will help each of us individually through this process.
6. Deal with the catalog-related issues that arise with the implementation of MyiLibrary and Coutts acquisitions.
