CLIC Marketing TF Launches Ask A Librarian Poster Campaign

This past spring, the CLIC Marketing Task Force conducted a series of focus groups to determine students’ knowledge of library services available to them. On Friday this week, the Marketing Task Force will present a program at the MLA Annual Conference, “Focus Groups and Freebies: Incorporating Feedback into a Consortial Marketing Initiative,” detailing their experience.

Based on the feedback from the focus groups, the Marketing Task Force developed a three-phase poster campaign to promote reference services: introduction to reference services at the beginning of the semester (Got questions? Ask a Librarian.), mid-semester reminder that librarians can help with research (Takes minutes. Saves hours. Ask a Librarian.), and end-of-semester encouragement (Be a research ___. Ask a Librarian.).

Some of the CLIC libraries are launching the campaign this fall, and others are waiting until the spring semester. The poster templates are designed to be re-used each semester and have been shared among the CLIC libraries.

The following are some of the posters created by the Task Force for the campaign.  For more posters, see the CLIC Marketing Task Force Posters photo album on CLIC’s Facebook page.
