UPDATE (9/9/2016): Steve’s Retirement Party will be at the CLIC Office on Friday, October 14, 1:00pm-3:00pm. Everyone who has worked with Steve over the past 24 years is invited to attend!

It is with both sadness and warm wishes that we at CLIC announce the retirement of long-time Systems Administrator, Steve Waage. Steve has served CLIC well for 24 years at the CLIC office and will be greatly missed. We wish him all the best in his new venture into retirement!

Prior to coming to CLIC in 1992, Steve worked at St. Catherine Library (a CLIC member), starting in 1978 as a “technical servant” in the library’s technical services department. In his time at CLIC, Steve has managed the shared library systems, including migrations to Dynix in 1992 and to Millennium in 2001.

In his letter, Steve writes, “I have enjoyed working for the CLIC Libraries for the last 24 years. I’m deeply grateful for the opportunities to serve and proud of the improvements in service to faculty, students and staff that I’ve participated in over that time.”

Steve’s retirement date is October 31, 2016, with his final day in the office on October 14. We will post information on his farewell party later this fall.  In the meantime, please feel free to send us historical photos and other memories of Steve from your library archives!

Thanks, Steve, and congratulations on your retirement!
