CLIC Collection Development Committee members Greg Argo, Heather Tompkins, Meg Manahan, and Frances Singh presented at ACRL in Baltimore, MD, on March 23, 2017.
The Committee presented their ACRL Paper, “Consortial eBook Purchasing for the Rest of Us,” which addresses how a consortium of small libraries with modest budgets can maintain commitment to shared resources in an eBook environment. They shared the frameworks developed by the Committee for selecting consortial eBook packages, presented findings from the first year of joint purchases, and highlighted how data informed the Committee’s decisions going forward. They concluded with an exploration of how a framework for consortial eBook acquisition and evaluation can inform cooperative collection development as well as strategic planning at individual member libraries.
Authors on the paper included Heather Tompkins, Greg Argo, Rhonda Gilbraith, Ron Kurpiers, Meg Manahan, and Frances Singh. Congrats to all!
