We are delighted to announce that Carla Urban has accepted the position of Interim Executive Assistant to the CLIC Board. Carla will start on Monday, June 17, and will work part-time through the end of the year.
After starting out in librarianship as the Latin American Cataloger at Tulane University, Carla spent 22 years at Minitex in a variety of roles related to OCLC services, cataloging and metadata training, contract cataloging, and digitization and digital library exhibits. She has her MLS from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MA from Tulane in Latin American Studies. With her husband, Jon, two sons in high school and another half-time position as a Children’s Minister, her hobbies of travel, baking and gardening currently get limited attention.
Carla’s connection with CLIC goes way back as her mother, Margaret Dewey, then director of the Bethel College Library, was one of the CLIC founders in 1969. Carla is looking forward to supporting CLIC and its members during this time of transition and planning.
