The University of Northwestern, St. Paul announces the retirement of Linda Rust from the Berntsen Library at the University of Northwestern – St Paul. Linda began working at the Library in August 1979, and over the course of her career, she has devoted 32 years of service to Northwestern.
Linda began her career overseeing the print periodicals collection. When she returned to full-time work in 2005, she again assumed responsibility for developing the serials collection as well as managing electronic serials and databases. Her position also included reference service with students and liaison work with faculty, including library instruction. Outside of Northwestern, she was the volunteer coordinator of the Duplicate Exchange Service for the Association of Christian Librarians. She also has actively participated in the Serials, Electronic Resources, and Collection Development committees of CLIC.
Northwestern and the Berntsen Library have been blessed by Linda’s many years of service. Professionally, her steady dedication, her talent for detail, and her pleasant manner with students and colleagues have been valuable assets. Personally, because of her quiet kindness and caring, she has cultivated cohesion among the library staff, and she has been an example of servant leadership to the many students and faculty she has helped over the years. We will greatly miss Linda’s presence and her professionalism. We wish her all the best in her retirement.
Please join with us in celebrating Linda by sending well wishes to her email, email@example.com, by July 17.
